The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) is seeking a highly experienced SAP BASIS Specialist contractor to provide advanced technical support and architecture design for our enterprise SAP solutions. The supported environments include ECC, CRM, BW, BusinessObjects (BOBJ), Process Orchestration (PO),Web Dispatcher, Fiori, C/4 HANA,SAP BusinessTechnologyPlatform(BTP)–SAPCloudPlatformIntegration(CPI),SuccessFactors, andothers.Thecontractorwillberesponsiblefortheadministrationandongoingsupportofthe SAP ecosystem, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, system refreshes, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The SAP BASIS Specialist will work closely with SMUD teams to ensure a stable, scalable, and reliable enterprise computing environment. Keyresponsibilitiesanddeliverablesinclude: •ProvideoperationsupportfortheSAPecosystem •Provide24/7on-callandafter-hourssupport,as required. •LeadprimarySAPBASISadministrationformajorenterpriseapplications. •Providesecondaryadministrationsupportforotherenterprise applications. •Troubleshootandresolvesystemissues,actingastheprimarypointofcontact. •WorkcloselywithSMUDanalystsandtechnicalteamstoresolvesystemoutagesor performance issues. •ScheduleandcoordinateSAPsysteminstalls,upgrades,patches,backups,and restorations. •PerformOS,application,database,andclienttoolpatchingandmigrations. •Fullytestpatchesinnon-productionenvironmentsbeforedeployment;evaluateand install software patches as needed. •Configuresystemsandapplicationstechnically,ensuringalignmentwithSMUD standards. •EnsureapplicationavailabilityperServiceLevelAgreements. •Performsystemsizingandcapacityplanning. •Actasvendorliaisonforbugfixes,and maintenance. •ReporttoSMUDmanagementwithstatusupdates,issues,andprogress. •Interfacewithbusinessunitsandapplicationusersforsupportandtroubleshooting. •Installnewapplicationreleasesandversionupgrades. •Support,monitor,test,andtroubleshoothardwareandsoftwareissuesasrelatedto SAP platform. •Developandmaintaindocumentation,procedures,andinventoriesforSAPsystem administration, including architecture, backup policies, and user management. •Providedesktopsupportandcoordinateordeliverusertrainingasneeded. •Evaluatesoftwareandhardwareandprovidetechnical recommendations. •AutomatetasksandstreamlineadministrativeprocessesincollaborationwithITand support teams. •CoordinateapplicationsupportwithotherSMUDresources(security,network, operations, application development). •Configure,maintain,andmonitorbatchjobsandscripts;resolverelatederrors. •Participateindisasterrecoveryplanning,testing,anddocumentation. •MaintainfaulttoleranceanddisasterrecoveryplansforSAP systems. MandatoryRequirements •Five(5)yearsofprogressivelyresponsibleITexperienceinadministrationSAPBASIS, with similar setup as SMUD. •Strong understanding and hands-on experience in the administration of SAP enterprise solutions,includinginstallation,configuration,patching,troubleshooting,documentation, and coordination. •In-depthknowledgeofSAPsystemdesign,configuration,andfunctionality. •Hands-onexperienceonAIX,UNIX,Linux,Windows,DB2andMSsqlSAPECC6,S/4 HANA,BW/BI,CRM,BOBJ,PO,BPC,HANA,C/4HANA,SAPBTP,SuccessFactors, CloudConnector,Fiori/Gateway,webdispatcher. •ExperienceonSolutionManagerandSAPCloudALM DesirableQualifications •Bachelor’sdegreeincomputerscience,MIS,orrelatedfieldfromanaccredited institution, or equivalent experience. •Five(5)yearsasSAPBASISsupportingSAPABAPand JAVA systems. •ExpertuseofSolutionManagerformonitoringandprojectdocumentation. •ProficiencyinSAPsystemrefreshprocesses(nativeSAPandtoolssuchasLAMA, SAP PCA). •AdministrationexperienceforNetWeaverJavasolutions(AdobeDocumentServices, PO, Web Dispatcher, SLD). •ExperiencewithSAPchangemanagement(CTS+,non-ABAPandcloud solutions). •SAPsystemadministrationinDB2/AIX,RHELenvironments.
